Title III - Access to Core-Coach





The essential duties of the Title III Access to Core Coach:

  • Under the direction of the school principal and the Language Acquisition Branch of LAUSD, provide support and assistance to all classroom teachers in the implementation of the District’s Plan for English Learners
  • Facilitate SDAIE Training for al classroom teachers
  • Conduct demonstration lessons and assist with curriculum to ensure that all students have access to state content standards
  • Assist classroom teachers in planning appropriate intervention and accommodation strategies for all students including English language learners, standard English language learners, students enrolled in special education and all students with diverse learning needs.
  • Using the coaching cycle, provide formal and informal feedback and professional development for teachers on instructional strategies and classroom practices aligned to research and standards-based instruction
  • Plan, facilitate, and attend grade level/department meetings, lesson study groups to assist teachers in utilizing data to align instruction to content standards and research
  • Prepare necessary documents to implement and monitor the District's Plan for English Learners
  • Attend Central and Local District Coach meetings
  • Meet regularly with site administrators, teachers, and the Language Acqusition Branch EL Expert to aticulate goals and support whole school achievement efforts
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate data to improve instructional program
